Wills

A precisely worded will paves the way for the administration of your estate in a manner that both accords with your wishes and minimises the inevitable distress at such a time. It may also serve to reduce a potential inheritance tax liability. By first discussing your specific circumstances and requirements with you, and preparing an initial draft for you to consider, your will becomes a document that is entirely personal to you.

The administration of an estate is often an onerous and occasionally complex task which can be substantially alleviated by engaging a solicitor to assist. Whilst we sometimes act as an executor in our own right, we frequently work alongside others who have been appointed, doing as much or as little of the administration work as we agree together to be appropriate.

Powers of Attorney

The management of someone else's affairs, when they have either become mentally incapable or are simply unable to manage them for themselves by reason of old age or other circumstances, is rendered so much more straightforward if the person concerned has previously granted a formal written authority. We can prepare such documents, almost as a form of insurance, often at the same time as drawing up a will. Furthermore, we are also prepared, where appropriate, to accept an appointment as attorney ourselves and to manage someone's affairs for them on an ongoing basis.
